From time to time we get a newbie commenting on the site and the comment usually takes one of several possible tacks:
1) I can’t believe I was duped for so long
2) Now I don’t know who to believe, you guys or MckMama
3) Don’t you have better things to do with your time? You guys are all just _____! (insert numerous, colorful adjectives)
For the latter type of visitor, and these also appear in MckMama’s comments on her sites, I wanted to address a few things.
First of all, welcome. Take some time to read the hyperlinks on the sidebar to your right. This is an archive of the more egregious issues we’ve taken with MckMama in the past. It’s not comprehensive; I’m working to add more to the list for future visitors.
Secondly, MckMama is a public figure (see: Facebook fan page description) and puts herself, her family and her life in a publicly available blog. Being a public figure opens you up to public scrutiny, followed shortly thereafter by public flogging. Be careful what you wish for.
Third and finally: we have lives, just like you. The time you spend reading and commenting on MckMama’s sites, we spend it here, so we’re even. If we were questioning and criticizing a blogger who merely posted a daily photo of say, armadillos, you might have a point with your critique of us. But we don’t. We are frustrated with a public blogger who portrays an image of herself that is far from the truth and heavily moderates to maintain that false image, all the while gaining financially from her deceptions. We feel she should be held accountable for her unethical actions and this site is an attempt to do so.
